My husband and I enjoyed our weekend at Dimond Lake. We stayed in our RV and had a perfect spot (A19) this site was right on the lake and had no sites on either side of us. lots of grass for the dog. We walked the 10 miles around the lake, took us about 4 /12 hours. We did a few stops along the way. DON'T forget bug spray, tons of mosquitoes!! It was peaceful and beautiful. We stopped at the resort for lunch on our way back to our sitethe food was good and staff was friendly.

Diamond Lake used to be a jewel. However, due to funding and staffing shortages the campground and facility have gone downhill. The bathrooms in our loop were closed. The bathrooms that were open rarely had TP. Forest Service workers were rarely around so there was little if any enforcement of basic rules (extra vehicles on site, multiple groups at one site, parking of roadway, etc.) Very disappointing...

Beautiful place to camp. The people at the check in station were wonderful. they even helped up move to a different site after our first night because we liked another available site better. Overall great experience,

Our experience was somewhat negative thru no fault of the park or the staff. Seems the previous occupants of the site inadvertently left a dead fish in the reeds at the edge of the lake behind our site. Stunk bad. We located a host who came by and removed it, but the whole process of ridding ourselves of the situation took most of our weekend stay. Also lots of gophers and ground squirrels. Need more hawks and foxes! We had also chose a smoky weekend, but we knew that going in.
