Life is always full of mysteries. Somehow the couch had been left on the front porch. We got it back inside. The reservation says there are 8 beds but we only found 7 upon arriving. There were dead mice behind the kitchen cabinets where we could not reach to clean up. But the appliances worked the fire was nice and the company was first class. I'll likely be back in another year.

We arrived in the rain and the place wasn't very clean... but the weather cleared and the hiking is spectacular! The spring as marked on the map was... interesting, but there is water in a trough uphill by the barn that didn't have all the algae. No phone service at cabin (AT&T) but from the top of the hill we could connect.

US Forest Service crews maintain the cabin and vicinity in excellent condition. We thank them for their conscientious care.

Really enjoyed our stay, very quiet and peaceful. The biting flies and other flying insects were a bit of a drawback but were manageable.Be prepared for very dusty roads if you travel out on the roads and trails in the area. Will be booking in the future.

We have camped in the campground every year for the past 10 years. This year we decided to stay in the cabin. This was a nice change in accommodations, and we enjoyed it very much. Although the propane range was out of order (we were warned in advance and brought the Coleman stove}, the refrigerator was great. We did not have to worry about ice to keep things cold! The rates are reasonable, and we will most likely book another stay in the future.

This is our second time at Godman with our family, we made great memories both times.Great to have running spring water close to us for cleaning, washing, and cooling off. We didn't know about it last year until just before we left . Helpful when washing dishes n mopping floors to have extra water available. Outside the house was left fairly clean. House was not cleaned well by person's ahead of us, it's disheartening to come behind ppl who don't clean up their own stuff. Lots of trails to explore by vehicles or by foot. Beautiful views. No one else was around so very peaceful. Huckleberries we're just coming on so it was fun to go picking. There are games in the house to play on rainy days.

I really love this place. Its sad to see the building and yard is becoming a little bit run down.

I’m a disgruntled visitor who had to work my butt off cleaning this cabin after it had been vacant for 6 months due to the coronavirus. I arrived at 1 pm and didn’t get to bring in any personal belongings until well after dark. The mold, grime, rodent turds and dead rodents were overwhelming. The last person to rent the place apparently didn’t believe in cleaning food off dishes or pots and pans, but that’s okay, they were all full of mice droppings anyway. The ranger district seemed reluctant to get involved. Someone dropped in to leave a bucket of Covid cleaning supplies before we arrived but apparently ignored the solid green mold inside the refrigerator and the mice living in the upholstered armchairs. This is by far the worst rental I’ve seen after visiting 89 different forest service rentals in the past 10 years. I can easily say that Godman Guard Station is the one place most in danger of becoming a crack house.

Great place to spend the night. It should be noted the forest Service maps are not totally up to date. Plan on a 7 mile trip with over 1500ft elevation gain.

The guard station provided us with an opportunity to live at the top of the Blue Mountains. Our love for the outdoors was truly met. We were able to explore the many back roads, and trails. It allowed us to experience nature at it's best. The accomodations of the station were great. Thank you for the opportunity to learn the history of such a special place.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
