What a beautiful place to visit our states history! From the elk, to the deer, Bald eagles and fish. We had an all around amazing time!

We fell in love with this cabin. But, be forewarned, it’s rustic! Everything seemed a little dusty and in slight disrepair, but it’s such a charming old cabin in such a pretty location, hey, who cares?!? We thought we’d be all alone—It wasn’t clear to us based on the cabin description that there would also be three other cabins close by. Not the experience we were hoping for, especially since the cabin next to us had three big dogs they let run everywhere, including chasing chipmunks (!), but at least the cabins were pretty far apart. A heads-up that the pond is manmade and tiny. Best part of our visit may have been the birds: swallows feeding chicks, Western tanager, woodpeckers.

Our stay at Miner's Retreat was wonderful! The full kitchen was the perfect way to save additional money while we explored the surrounding area. We loved the history of the Pump house and visiting the store in Granite. They have an amazing group of musicians that gather whenever they feel like it. The fire pit was nice to gather around. The cabin was clean and warm, and there were WAY more beds than we expected! Our family of 7 each had a place to sleep, and there was room for another 2! We have this on our list of "places we definitely want to visit again."

Loved this place. It was very relaxing, loved the view and activities around the area. It was a really neat experience getting to tor the old powerhouse on site.
