Camp host was great Front cabin was good to stay inBack cabin the lock on the door was broken we had to wedge a chair under the door handle to keep the door locked at night and the smoke detector was chirping my full 3 day 2 night stay even in our sleep, this was not the best experience we have had there , our previous experience have been much better. Please fix the alarm chirping and the door lock.

Zero stars for the experience but 5 stars for the facility. My family and I have stayed in many Ranger Stations across the state, the two cabins and the grounds included in the reservation are incredible and above most others. We checked in with the camp host and she was easily accessible and helpful. I had reserved this for three nights over labor day weekend, the cabin is by online reservation only. Five minutes after we arrived at the cabins, the problems started. As were were unloading our things, a steady stream of trucks began showing up on our grounds trying to take over the cabins. I locked the gate and trucks full of people continued trying to show up at the property late into the night. My family and I felt extremely uncomfortable while I had to confront a non stop parade of people trying to take what I rightfully reserved in advance. This location is very popular with bow hunters as well as they were walking all over the property and the surrounding area. We couldn't sit outside and enjoy our surroundings because of all the things going on. We decided in the morning to cut our stay short because this was not going to stop and as soon as we left a red truck pulled right into the property to try to take the spot. We checked out early with the camp host and let her know of what was going on. There needs to be a better way to enforce the reservations so you don't have to have confrontations with dozens of random people trying to take what is yours. Reserving this spot is meant to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet in the great outdoors and unfortunately this was the opposite experience and I ended up forfeiting hundreds of dollars by having to leave early.

If you are the first user of the season, sometimes the water is not yet turned on.

We had an absolute ball at the Payson Lakes Guard Station. The cabin was incredibly clean and Adam was very helpful and lovely. We'd come here again in a heartbeat! My only suggestion would be to have a journal available for folks to share their experiences, we always love reading them. Thanks for having us!

The ranger station cabins are a very cool place to stay and we have stayed here a number of times. On our last stay it wasn't in very good shape. The cabins were not clean. With a little bit of repairs these could be the best place to stay on the nebo loop. I'd like to suggest making the cabins a dedicated hunter project. A little paint, some screens on the windows, little things like that would make a huge difference.

One of the most beautiful spots in Utah.

I did have a little difficult time finding the person that was supposed to give me the code and that was bout the biggest issue I had. I think one cabin had a mouse but we only heard it and didn't see it.

It was nice up there. The place wasn’t very clean and who ever stayed there before us some how put poop in bathroom cupboard.
I paid a lot of money for a place that wasn’t clean. They told us the shower in back building was good but it was so bad. I heated up a pot of water and rinse off myself off.
It was a nice place and beautiful view but for the money I spent I have to give it a 2 out of 10
We had to even bring the pan to rinse myself off. Kind of a joke

There was no electric heat and no hot water, and the working stove was in a different building from the working refrigerator. We booked four nights but stayed for one, sleeping on a twin mattress pulled into the kitchen with the stove open and running at 450 degrees. (It snowed that night, in mid-May.)

We could happily have lived with a wood stove, but because the cabin is "electric," there isn't one.

We're trying to get our money back.

Pretty location, but there were a lot of mouse droppings in the guard station. Not clean at all really. Wish I brought all my cleaning supplies and mouse traps.

We love this ranger station. It is comfortable and easy. We will for sure go again.
There was no dishes or anything to cook with this time which was surprising but we assumed it was because of covid.

Rustic but comfortable cabins (2 cabins, 2 bunk beds in each cabin). Both cabins have bathrooms so bring your own towels, and both have kitchens so bring your refrigerated food and pots and pans as well. Nice fire ring and picnic table. Very secluded and private - perfect family get away.
