This is our 3rd consecutive memorial weekend at the same campsite at Bear Canyon. Every year the restrooms have been locked, but MORE IMPORTANTLY the picnic tables are in terrible, even dangerous, condition, considering we have young children and grand parents. The fire pit is at ground level with many uneven spots, making it imminent someone may stumble into the fire. If the camp fees weren’t so HIGH for this site, we might rate differently. In other words, our group alone has expended nearly $1700 for 10 nights spanning three years, and NO IMPROVEMENTS have been made!
It’s both shocking and disappointing.
That said, we return because you can’t beat the location and scenery, hiking opportunities, etc.

I have photos available of the tables and would like to share if you can provide a worthwhile email address of someone who cares and WILL respond.
