Great campground and site. Some clearing taking place at sites to improve. Perfect location for some mountain hikes and easy access to Bear Lake. Will stay again in the future.

Our campsite was not big enough for our trailer. When we arrived, we tried to manuever our camper in the small curved site (site number 2). After realizing we could not fit it in, we asked the host, who happened to not be any help at all. It was late and the only option was the KOA. We ended up there. We tried to contact Recreation to get a refund for the unused days. Unfortunately we were never able to do this. We ended up spending money on the 4 days we were reserved but did not stay there. Horrible experience.

When we got there, someone had made their own saved sign and decided to stay an extra day in our reserved spot. I called the forest service number that was on my confirmation email and was told that they dont services that camp ground, only the one next to it. So they transferred me to someone else. That rep told me that the host covering our camp site hadnt been doing his job so they had to fire him and they had no one to cover the area to help us deal with the situation. She told us they were booked with no available camp spots and nothing they could do to help. I had two vehicles, a trailer, and 5 kids that were anxious after driving from out of state to come camping at Bear Lake and now no where to camp. The rep on the phone was rude and offered no apology or solution. She just kept saying yeah that camp host was terrible. We ended up just taking the camp host site (without telling her) since no camp grounds around had any vacancy. But then, people would stop at our camp spot and wed have to explain that we werent the host and couldnt fix their complaints. It was a poor experience and Ill never make a reservation at that camp ground again.
