Such a beautiful place. The equestrian sites are away from all the people so we didnt mind them at all. There were horses but they were away from us. We actually moved to site 66 becuse it was flatter and it had a little more shade. We used the awning on our trailer so it worked out fine but if I didnt have an awning, I would bring a pop up shade structure. The wind does come through every now and again so you would need to keep your eye on the shade structure or weigh it down. We walked around the lake each day. Its 2.1 miles.

We had a fire with a singe piece of wood in it that didn't quite fit in the fire pit, some of the wood was sticking out a bit. This was mostly burning and all the fire was completely contained in the fire pit. Nonetheless we were yelled at and demeaned. The campground hosts were doing their job but in the worst and most invasive way possible. Given the inherent extra risk we said we were sorry and that we understand and would take care of it. We were trying to comply but they just kept yelling and wouldn't even give us a chance to do anything. Even after we had gotten the mostly burning log out of the fire and doused it with water, they continued to tell us how very wrong what we did was. Everyone in the group was upset and on edge the rest of the trip. This was compounded with previous bad experiences with this same campground host years ago. The told use we had to actually use our trailer and that leaving it unattended was unacceptable and would result in being towed in the future. We had used our trailer but chose to go out and do things during the day. They said we were not at our trailer because no one was there when they knocked on the door at 10:00 am. All and all the hosts have made this campground an awful experience which is disappointing because of how very beautiful it is up there.

It is so stinkin crowded on the weekend. With all the money they bring in they should make more parking. If they don't make more parking then turn people away and quit letting people park willy nilly making it impossible to get in or out.
