The Camp host Dusty was excellent and very helpful. Knowledgeable about the trails. Keeps a very clean camp.

No trails to ride from the camp. Camp host said lots of trails, but you have to trailer to all of them. Hard to pack up a living quarters to trailer to ride. Nice camp, but we will not be going back.

We love the caretakers. They are both nice and keep the place looking great. As long as we’re able to, this will be our winter spot.

Great campground host, they know all the trails and ins and outs of the area, they're horse people so its nice to have hosts that know what other horse people are looking for.
The only problem is that campsite #7 has a stall that is not usable because its missing two fence rails, fortunately no one was at site #8 so we were able to use that one. Also the only trail that is rideable from there is not very long, or ypu would have to pass some big boulders but I wouldn't try that with my horses, the Lakeview is great, weather was perfect and we had a good time.

Truly outstanding in every way possible... camp sites were well groomed and clean, water was close and available. Camp host was kind, helpful and courteous. The bathrooms were very clean. Dumpsters to put our manure in. Access to site was easy to pull into and out with a Dodge 4500 and a 30’ living quarters horse trailer.

Access to trail from camp a bit confusing at first, but the camp host helped us out. You basically headed west out of the campground under the highway then you turn north. It’s basically a out and back for the most part. We left camp and made it to the Arizona Trail and rode south, picking up a USFS road heading east down to highway. Once we went under the highway, we found the old highway that headed north to our camp, but couldn’t get around the National Monument Park, Gates were locked and no way around it, so we had to turn around, go back to head down the highway which wasn’t good, but there was no other way to do it....

I would recommend the USFS builds a connection Trail from the campground South around tonto National monument park so the riders can get back to camp without going down the highway. This was a huge problem. Signage was nice, except on anything leaving the campground headed south towards the national monument park.

It was a 20 mile ride and should of only been 16 as we had to turn around.

The trails were well marked going under the highway and heading north and then connecting to the Arizona Trail, it was only when we got all the way around south of the tonto national monument park that it was tough.

All in all a fabulous place to camp.

Clean campground, friendly hosts, convenient corrals, able to ride right out from campground. Great stay! Would visit again.

First time stay: The camp is very clean. Easy in, Easy out with horse trailers. Campground hosts are great. Only one criticism: It is not horse & rider friendly for riding out of camp. To ride out of camp, you have to cross Hwy 188 as vehicles fly by at over 55 miles per hour. I ended up trailering out to ride, which is a pain. I had to secure and breakdown camp every time. Does not appear to be designed by "horse people" with a mind focused on a rider's needs.
