Sorry but the stars did not cover experiences. We were all from Canada and because of COVID we did not arrive at the cabin. There was a restriction people entering Alaska.

Upon arrival the cabin was clean and excellent for our group's needs. Great location for our final day paddle to Wrangell.
The only suggestion we would make is to re-activate the upstairs "opening window". Initially we thought it would be too hot up there however it was just fine for sleeping...in September.
Thanks.

We really enjoyed the cabins, they were very usefull and efficient. Itis just too bad someone had not closed the heater valve properly which allowed the kerosene to spill on the floor which created a rather strong smell but people's lack of care cannot allways be prevented. The cabins are very usefull and enjoyable faciliites after having camped several days especially in inclement weather. Thank you very much for makig these available to the backcountry public

Spent the final night of our Stikine River canoe trip at Garnet Ledge Cabin. After sleeping in the rain for a number of days prior it was a great place to land, dry gear and enjoy a fire! Some trash left behind from earlier parties, but we cleared it out when we left. Otherwise, wood was stocked and the place was in good condition. We had planned on only being 6 people, but ended up sleeping 8 due to logistics changing while on the river. It was cozy, but we made it work! Pitching a tent outside would have been difficult since much of the surrounding area is (was) quite wet. Even at high tide when we were there water was very low, but we made it out fine with our canoes. I'd stay here again in a pinch, but if we run the river again we'd likely stay on the other side of the canal where water at high tide is deeper (easier shuttle and boat access).
