Eagles Nest Campground is located in the Prince of Wales Ranger District, Tongass National Forest (1 day 4 hrs 39 min northwest of Bellingham, WA) with an elevation of 621 feet. There are a total of 12 campsites including 2 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from mid May to mid September. 10 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 40 and 99 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Fees range from $8.00 to $16.00. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

There is NO RV DUMP here nor potable water, even though the website and map indicates there is. We were able to get water, and take showers, in Thorne Bay at the city offices, and the harbor. The site itself was shorter than expected because the picnic table had been moved into the parking area and was too heavy for us to move. It also was a bit overgrown which made it narrow. Since it was rainy while we were there, and we were generally out and about, this didn't impact us too much. The boardwalk along the lake is very pleasant; we shared it with a doe very a brief distance:) The campground is well located for exploring the island, both north and south. It is a bit of a drive back to the ferry for an early departure.
