The cabin was in great shape. Plenty of firewood and a wood stoves heat beats oil hands down. Less odor and a magical quality that is difficult to quantify. The boat had no leaks. I really appreciate these public use cabins.

Great cabin that is in excellent shape. Plenty of wood. Portage to Hasselburg is a fun walk, as is the hike to Mole Harbor.

The FS cabin crew must have been there just before my arrival. Woodshed was full, split kindling & dry wood by the freshly cleaned woodstove, cabinets cleared out of people’s left stuff, fire pit was empty of ash and trash… and it proved to be a successful scouting trip - I learned where the deer weren’t this week ??

Nice cabin, love the fly-in Wilderness opportunity and the seclusion it provides. The wood stove is a bonus too providing a warm dry camp and is almost always my preference over an oil stove (ambiance and we prefer wood smoke over oil smell).
