Great clean spot. Only downside really is not having water available at the individual camp sites. 110v power would be nice also.

We have been going to Russell park for several years for a family camping trip. The past two years the park has had "squatters" at multiple campsites. This year we came back to our campsite and saw two police cars at a campsite down the way. We hear later, from a "squatter" that he was "acting weird during the night", running around and scratching on tents. Not what you like to hear when you're camping with multiple little kids.

The bathrooms have been in poor condition. The boys said their restroom had fecal matter all around the toilets. The park host is a strange bird that just randomly walks around "cleaning" the beach. And making sure the only two campers there during the week have a vehicle pass, even when they don't need it due to a campsite.

Anyway. Have camped a lot, and fine and dandy with strange birds, but lake Georgetown has become less and less a place I would take kids for a camping trip. Just uncomfortable with them walking to the bathroom or not sleeping in a tent with an adult readily available.

We had a blast the only reason why I'm giving y'all 3 stars is because the website says bring bedding and let's you know they have bunks but they didn't mention there aren't any mattresses we made it work though just would of liked to be for warned to bring an air mattress other then that it was peaceful and wonderful

I've been going to Russell Park for a while now. We've enjoyed the trails, the beach, and the extra space at the day use area for night games. Availability of the shelters was a nice fallback in case of bad weather (which we had). It was chilly, so we fit our tent inside of it to hold the heat in.

It was a beautiful night for camping, and our site worked well for our needs. The area was clean, and we enjoyed the scenery/surroundings. One concern was the availability of bathrooms. With every campsite reserved for the weekend, they should have opened the bathroom facility in the nearby day use area as well to prevent overcrowding.

We rented two shelters anticipating that we would sleep inside but they were filthy, dirt, leaves, and insects inside. We were unable to sleep inside the shelter and had to drive to Walmart to buy tents to sleep in. The bathroom toilets in the women’s bathroom had a stall that was leaking what looked like sewage across the floor. I was so disappointed, this is such a beautiful park. If the park would invest in staff to clean the shelters and bathrooms it would be a great place to camp. Unfortunately I will never camp here again.

I always enjoy camping at Russell Park. We hit the trail that goes all the way around the lake. We had a fun night hike down to the swim beach area too. We live local but enjoy this close by park for quick local camping.
