The actual park and facilities?? Great! The microburst that ripped our tent out of the ground and threw it? Not so much thankfully we had the on site shelter to pick through the corpse of our tent! Only complaint would be that 2 of the outlets didn't work

The place was very quiet and that was nice but the bathrooms were filthy the entire time. Finally the morning we left someone cleaned them. I wouldve cleaned them, but there were no materials not even hand towels I could use.

Dawn, who checked us in was a pure delight. Super friendly every time we interacted with her. The campsite was clean. My only complaint was the mowers. They did a poor job. We even moved stuff out of the way, but their mowing was kind of hit and miss.

The campground was extremely loud late at night, it was unacceptable

We enjoyed our stay. The shelter has plenty of coverage even in bad weather. Just keep in mind it is a shelter and not a cabin so there is no Ac. But there are 4 outlets I believe, so it was plenty to keep us cool at night. I would use it again and have already recommended it to friends.

We stayed at one of the two screened shelters. Be aware the shelters are relatively close so I hope you like your neighbors. Not a lot to do at the campground if you dont have a boat.

We left quite early, though the park was not to blame. Our air mattress broke, and we discovered that we can no longer sleep on a concrete floor with just a sleeping bag. That said, the park seemed very attractive, although we didn't get to explore it all. Our shelter was very open and breezy -- great for summer, but not so much in late November with a 20 mph north wind blasting across the lake. It was also a bit annoying that we couldn't lock the shelter unless we were inside; we were not given a key, and there is no hasp on the door. But otherwise, everything was fine. The campground looked great, and the restrooms were clean and in good condition.

The campsite and campground were very nice. But it was very difficult to sleep with extremely noisy people racing loud cars and playing loud music until 3 AM and then the music started up again at 5 AM the next morning. These people were across a small inlet of water near the campground. I am guessing those people were not on park property. Not sure if it is private property or Corps of Engineer property.

We really enjoyed our weekend at Speegleville Park. The grandchildren spent a lot of time swimming and fishing. And there was plenty of shade for all of us to just enjoy the time together.

Check in went well. Rest rooms were kept as clean as possible. Attendants were great and looked into any and all of our concerns. We will definitely be back. Wish they were open year long or at least through the end of November.
