Very quiet place to relax close to water. Campers have plenty of distance between them. I will recommend this place to anyone.

I was very pleased that the park was actually mowed this time. Typically we have to bring our mower and weedeater and mow our site. My only concern is that there are no longer gate attendees. The gate is opened at 6 closed at 10. ANYONE can just come in. There's a note that the gate house is closed if you have a reservation go ahead and set up we'll bring your tags later!!!!!!

Great park, quiet, nice lakefronts. Friendly deer wander the sites. Beautiful lake. Nice shaded areas.

Our site was not open the day we came so we went to another site which wouldn't have been a big deal if we could have stayed there. However we had to move the next day into our original site and messed up our plans for that day. When we did get to the site it was covered in dog poop. We told the camp hosts and nothing was done. It was disgusting and our kids couldn't play in the grass . Very disappointed in our experience because it was a beautiful park.

I normally don't camp on weekends, but on Saturday night of my last visit there was load music being played well after dark by drunk guys. No more weekends for me.

Speegelville is a nice park. Our site was pretty level but there was a large spot between the rear wheels of our Motorhome the was heaved up pretty bad, site 2. There is lots of space in the site but the shower house needs attention., it was dirty and uninviting. a good power washing inside would go a long way to getting rid of the spider webs and dead bugs, and would likely help with the smell.

The campground and the camp sites were great. The detour to get to the campground was another story, it sure seems that while the other entrance was being improved you could have done something to make the detour halfway passable. So many bumps and holes, you could have at least tried to fill them in.

we stayed in spot # 2 for two nights it was very nice and the view of the lake was awesome. Tons of deer roaming the grounds and plenty of wild life to observe. Park is super clean and well kept and a great staff as well. We will be back.

I have a class B RV. The dump inlet is too high for me - I made it work, but not smooth sailing.The hours prevented my stay on my return trip. Wish there was a way to let registered campers in by code.

Everything went well on our 4-night stay. The park personnel were friendly and cordial, and the utilities worked fine. Although the lake was 8 feet low, the boat ramp and dock were perfectly usable. The only two complaints I might have are: (1) the road from Hwy 6 to the park is still full of chuck holes, just as it has been for the last several years (why oh why won't you get this road repaired?), and (2) there are no shade covers at most of the lakeside camping spots (it was super-hot and sunny while we were there). When it gets cooler this fall, we plan to return to Speegleville Park again.

Speegleville is a nice area with lots of lake view slots. Lacks shade in many of the spots and the restroom/showers leave something to be desired. They need renovation for sure - not as nice as others at core lakes. Experience overall was good.

The campsites deserved a five star rating. Extremely well kept. My hat's off to the Zen Master who rakes the campsites after each visit. Very well designed, with the campsites angled which made for ease of entering (backing the trailer in) as well as clean line of sites from each campsite to Lake Waco. The issue with this campground are the showers. Very poor maintenance. Pulls the entire experience down two notches.
