The location and campsites provide ample space like most public parks. But sadly, this park is being neglected or just has troubles maintaining their campsites....grass was two feet high, our fire ring was turned up on its side for no reason. Glad it was just a one-nighter for us on the way home. Sad.

we stayed in spot 9, which was not level, had to block our jacks to get the left side up. The site was nice and private. There were no signs leading you to the dump station, used the toad to wander around to find it then when we did, as it would turn out it was the old one, the host stopped by to ask why we were using it. I explained the lack of signage, he laughed. nice guy but not very helpful.. Waco was a great stay, the mammoth dig and silos are must sees.

Polite and professional volunteers, clean facilities and nice sites. What more can you ask for!

Site Spot was clean, raked and ready upon arrival.. Attendant at the check-in station was new but she provided me with a map of the site and helped with questions as it was my 1st visit to the place.

The campground itself is quite nice. The sites are pretty well spaced out. Several sites are pull-though. The sites have 30amp electric, nicely groomed picnic area, picnic table, water and grill.

This place is in need of some maintenance and updating. The lot was ok, mostly level and was a pull through near other lots closer to the lake that were back in only. Water and electric but now sewer. The latrine was only 100 yards or so away but was covered in cob webs with torn, worn, and dirty shower curtains. The playground was dilapidated and was roped off. There is really nothing else in the way of infrastructure except an equestrian area that we heard from the day use area but didn't visit. My five year-old and I enjoyed fishing from the day use area but the shores are pretty rocky with few nice areas that aren't a shear drop of several feet into the water. We also played in the woods a bit near the campsite, no issues there. Some of the other campers' kids seemed to enjoy bicycling around the park's low-traffic roadways. All in all it's a cheap kind of run-down place to camp. Bring your own entertainment or plan to use the lake because otherwise there's nothing there.
