Worst park visit I've ever had. While the area was nice and restroom fairly clean, the staff did not enforce the rules and did not answer calls. The whole area sounded and smelled like I was at a college party which went way past midnight. I got zero sleep due to the surrounding inconsiderate and drunk guests which all seemed to know eachother. I messaged recreation.gov which was worthless as was calling the number they provided.

Unfortunately I was unaware of the construction that was taking place during my stay. Dump trucks started at 7am dumping rocks at the boat ramp while a bulldozer sorted them..all dayuntil 5 pm. Even while I was out on the water on my Yak it was still loud and annoying. Also, some of the spaces here are very close together in this parkuncomfortably close. Thankfully there was nobody in the spots around me or I probably would have just left. Not sure why they would design it like that. You go camping to get away from people, not to be within arms distance of each other.

We booked a site that claimed to support large rigs (40ft, etc), but the slope of the site was so steep, it is nearly impossible to get a 5th wheel into it. Additionally, IF you could get it in there, you would not have any room to park the tow vehicle or the second vehicle that is allowed. The listing should be updated to state that the sites that are facing the lake are for small vehicles less than 30ft. We arrived right at dark and it was raining. Once we realized it was not a place we could fit in, I did not bother to get out in the rain and go knocking on the host's trailer doors to try and get another spot as they looked to be fairly full this night. The area was beautiful though, and it would be a great place to stay if you could fit into the spot we reserved. Maybe next time.

Camp sites are to close together. They need to be more spread out

Very clean, quiet and peaceful in the piney woods. Take a "scattered thunderstorm" forecast seriously. There is no riding out a thunderstorm with sustained 30 mph winds in a tent when you are on the lake front. It was violent and scary for a couple hours and no one checked on us, but we managed to get in our jeep while wind, rain and lightening wiped out our setup at 4am. Our site was downhill from the road so it was like a river running through. The next day was beautiful and clear which worked well for drying out all of our gear. Very peaceful second night. DId not hear any bad road noise at our site # 34. Also, easy access to firewood for .50 a piece at the nearby Valero.
