We enjoyed our stay here. The main issue we had was that the sites were all backward from what you would expect, so we had to go the "wrong way" down the road to back into our site. Otherwise, it was a peaceful stay over the New Year, and the lake was absolutely beautiful.

We were able to get a FHU site. We were able to fit our rig in, which isn't always the case. Site was level enough for autolevel to work. Good water. Good electric (30A). Waste-water worked great. We had a view of the lake & pine woods from our camp. Met some great people & enjoyed a fish fry w/ them. All at a great price.

The park is normally quite nice; we have been there many times. This trip we found the grass was way past needing to be mowed with weeds almost 2' high in and around the campsites. Not normally how we find the park. Many of the campsite pads are seriously deteriorated, asphalt missing in huge chunks. Sam Rayburn Lake is a beautiful place nestled in the piney woods of East Texas. COE should show it some love and respect, time to do a little housekeeping.

This site is only 30 amps...it is full hookups, but come on this campground only has ONE 50amp full hookup site. They are in the finishing stages of putting in 5 more 50 AMP sites (But no sewer).

This is a beautiful park with great sites. With that said, beware of RV sites 4-5-7 on the LOOA loop as they need repair on the paved parking areas from erosion. Look forward to returning to another site.

Two issues1. We arrived after a 5 hr drive to find another camper in our spot. Host said owner got out of work at 330pm. Check out was 2pm. She suggested we wait. No way. She moved us and charged us. 2. Bathrooms were disgusting. Will not stay here again.

The stay at the park was good. There were issues with the facilities (sewer) that required repairs. I would stay there again.

Site 14 level, shaded, right across street from restrooms, lake view. Host were friendly and available. Nice boat ramp but definitely needs a dock; no way to get into your boat. The public boat ramp was right around the corner but you have to get there early as it was packed.

We were originally in site 19, as we arrived we saw it was on a grade upward. We asked the camp host, Debbie (who was riding by), if there was a better match for our needs as it was our 1st time there. She graciously spent time with us and recommended site 14 which was only 30A but full hookup. We were fine with 30A and the full hookup was a bonus. We also met some new friends that we would not have had it not been for her. Thanks Debbie, we appreciate all the volunteer work you do.

This park is easy to navigate and has great scenery. The trees and lake are beautiful! Utilities work well. The full hookup campsites are VERY close together and are strangley set up. Our fire ring was actually closer to our neighbor's table than it was to ours! The other neighbor's table was right outside our RV window, and was also right next to our sewer connection! We also happened to be there right during someone's family renuion/retirement party, and they had all the sites in the entire loop reserved! They were nice, but people were constantly walking through our campsite. This also highlighted the fact that there is no enforcement of the rules there. Rules regarding keeping dogs on leashes, number of vehicle per site, number of people per site, etc. were not enforced. We were there for a week and never once saw a park ranger. The hosts drove through once a day, but never addressed these issues. Speaking of hosts, one showed up on a riding mower and started mowing our campsite while we were outside cooking breakfast! I realize they have to mow, but our site had no tall grass, and all he did was kick up dust onto everything! He did stop when I asked, but I can't believe he did it to begin with! And there were other areas that needed mowing much more that ours! There are lots of small birds to watch here, and easy access to the lake. The tent campsites have great views of the lake, and the sites without full hookups do have more space between them. There is a convenience store nearby, but it has very limited supplies. Better shopping is available about 10 miles away in Jasper.
