There for the eclipse, we enjoyed our camp site by the water. Watching the bluebirds was a highlight. The folks running the campground were very nice and helpful. We had a great experience.

We stayed on sites 56 and 57. Both needed a good cleaning. It would have been nice if they had weedeated around the table area. There were cobwebs all over the awnings and on the tables. I had to clean before we could even sit down. The grill on 56 was missing so we would have had to use the fire ring and it's very difficult to get up and down. Also, the grill on 57 which was there , the bottom is almost burned out. We did use it and was very grateful one was available so we could stand up to grill our food. Also, I went to take a shower in the ladies room on what I consider the backside of the building and it only had hot water. I could not allow my daughter to use that restroom in fear she would be scalded. Also, the vents were closed so it was extremely hot in there. In the men's restroom on the backside the sink didn't work and the vents were closed. My husband said it was like taking a shower in a sauna. He refused to shower in the front. In the front ladies room, almost the entire floor flooded when anyone took a shower. No need to dry your feet, you had to walk through a puddle to get out. The drain in the shower area did not work. In my opinion, all 4 need to be cleaned and redone. I have stayed at other gov. campgrounds and all the restrooms are horrible. They have felt like saunas and overall need a good cleaning. Just making it to where air is available, i.e. a window that will open, to vent the rooms would be nice. It gets hard to breath with no air flow. Most need an overhaul. Bathrooms get a 1 star rating. We are planning on camping again but I will ask other people where they camp and what their experience was. I will tell them about how bad the bathrooms were, no one manning the desk, and the tables and awnings full of cobwebs and spiders. I will also suggest they take a weedeater to cut the grass down. I hope all this gets fixed so others will have a better experience.
