We camped at Murrell Park recently me, my son, and my nephews and had an awesome experience. The campground is really well-kept, and the facilities were nice overall. I do wish the bathrooms were a little cleaner, but honestly, it wasnt a deal-breaker.The trails are perfect for light hiking. Nothing extreme great for beginners, families, or anyone with bad knees like me. The scenery is beautiful, and there are several spots along the trail where you get amazing views of the lake and can snap some great nature photos. Our campsite itself was fantastic. We had a great view of the lake right from our site, which made the whole trip even better. If you like fishing, definitely bring your poles we were able to catch some bass and had a blast. Each campsite comes with a covered picnic table, a grill, and a fire pit, which made cooking super convenient. Theres also plenty of space between sites, so it doesnt feel crowded or noisy. One thing missing is an elevated hook for hanging trash and the number sign was missing on our spot.Overall, Murrell Park is a great spot for camping, hiking, and fishing, and well definitely be going back soon. Highly recommend it!

The staff was friendly and helpful in making your stay fun and what i needed. The camping area was kept clean. It was a beautiful view of lake with the boats going by. I loved watching so many fishing out on lake. Next time I want to fish. Thanks to the Park Rangers for all their help and to the camp hosts!

Close to Lake Grapevine and very quiet at night. Trees for shade, a pretty location. Fellow campers were polite.

Best tent/car camping site in DFW. The workers at the gate are extremely nice and informative. The views are phenomenal and itโ€™s very relaxing out here on Hippy Point. My husband and I plan to come back quite often.

There are no bathrooms very close to the campsite. You have to drive or walk a pretty good way to get to it. A porta potty next to the campsite would be nice.

Always a great place to visit, both day use areas and permit campsites are always spotless.Extremely helpful staff also, and well patrolled by Park Rangers and local police. Highly recommend camping there, just don't cut down anything- that's a big no-no.And remember...Nobody else comes out here to listen to you or your music, have a little respect for others.

It was too windy and my three year old daughter screamed a lot. I suppose that's not the park's fault though. We love Murrell Park because it's close to civilization, the campsites are well-kept and spread out, the staff are friendly, the lake views are pleasant, the price is much cheaper than the TX State Parks, and the trails are great for hiking! My kids love heckling the mountain bikers as they struggle through technical climbs and fall all over themselves. Such fun! We'll certainly be back.

The only thing I can recommend. That the campsites could use some repairs, weeds be trimmed down, etc. just the normal up keep. Other then that I love to camping there.
