It was unbearably hot after 11am. After dark any light source drew in millions of knats. The screen shelters were infested with fire ants. Showers are always broken.

I love Promontory been going here almost 40 years. Had the worse experience ever on the day I was to check out. My jet ski broke down on the water and I swam it into a cove and walked back to get a trailer. Backed down to the water to load non running jet ski. Truck did get stuck, back tires in water absolutely no property damage. Within 10min a park ranger showed up as I was calling to get my truck winched out. Now my day is bad enough and this ranger does not care that I was in an emergency situation, he only wanted to try and tell me I was wrong and write me a citation. Now who ever the low life is who called law enforcement instead of asking what was wrong or offering help I hope they are never in a mechanical emergency and need help and not harassment. Then the gate attendant tried to actually tell me that there is no situation that could possibly require ANYONE to drive on the grass. The gate attendant obviously has no boating or on the water experience of any kind, But I don't knock her for that. The problem I have is that I am at this park on a weekly basis and I know exactly where the water level is and has been and when the area was last covered in water making it undrivable. The lawnmowers was just driving there 2 weeks ago. Contract vehicles drive on these areas anytime they perform work. BUT THERE IS NO SITUATION ANYBODY SHOUD HAVE TO DRIVE ON FEDERAL PROPERTY GRASS???? This was some gate attendant I have never seen before. Mr. Myers is great and would have never done anything as unacceptable. Mr. Myers knows me and knows I do business with this park all summer every summer. I know he can't be there all the time but I wish he was. Best gate attendant Promontory has ever had.
