If you visit this campground, don't expect to have a pleasant experience using the restrooms or the showers. My wife and I stayed here over the memorial day weekend of 2022, and this aspect did not meet our expectations AT ALL! Only one of the restroom facilities had working toilets with all the rest having portable toilets (Who wants to use those in 100 Texas summer heat?!). The women's side of the shower facility nearest our campsite had the plumbing completely ripped out (assumed vandalism), and the men's only had cold water. Another facility at the other end of the campground had both working toilets, however, the men's shower there didn't work at all, and the women's only had hot water with minimal privacy (It was a struggle for my wife to bathe and dress without being exposed). Additionally, a button had to be continuously held in order for the showerhead to function. Primarilly because of this, we left early.Until USACE fixes these restroom/shower facilities, I cannot recommend this campground. At a minimum, they should inform the public on this website or wherever else necessary that the restroom/shower facilities are not functional, informing patrons before they make and pay for reservations.Additionally, the firepits here are tiny and provide only the most minimal of functionality and safety. The firepits should be a bit larger with a ring to increase functionality and prevent accidental fires. Don't expect to do much beyond grill hotdogs.
