Beautiful views. Great park. Gas station right down the road if you’ve forgotten anything. Wonderful fishing. Will come back.

This is a beautiful lake and the shelters are very convenient. The maintenance on them has declined over the past few years. My family has been camping here for 3 decades and the care and maintenance used to be much better. We reserved 4 shelters for several days, with my husband and I coming in on Wednesday. When we arrived and began setting up, I noticed that there was no power. I went to the front to let them know and was told, "Sorry. There's nothing we can do." They tried to blame on weather. Someone finally came down and found out that the power to all of the units was just turned off. At that time, we discovered that the bathrooms were all padlocked. Apparently we were the first visitors of the season. However, we made the reservations in December so I feel that the area should have been made ready before we arrived. The park ranger came and was very helpful, trying to repair shelter door that didn't have any latch to close and checking on status of restrooms. We were told previously that everyone would have to share the women's bathroom because the men's was not working. The ranger said only one of the toilets in the men's side was not working so she opened it back up. The cleaning contractors came a couple of days later and were rude making comments about how people can't read. The bathrooms were never cleaned very well. When I told them the ranger was the one that opened the bathroom, he said she was new and didn't know what she was doing. He should never say things like that to guests. Camping is an activity that my family really enjoys. We always leave the area nicer than we found it. The money that we spent for the time that we were there should be ample for upkeep of the facilities. We want to keep going to Cedar Ridge but this trip was somewhat spoiled and will make us think twice about staying again.
