This is a very small place. But it is well maintained and so quiet you can hear a hickory nut hit the ground from the other side of the campground. The most beautiful sunset I have ever seen in my life as it went down on the far side of the lake.

This is the third year in a row that we have gone to Bumpus Mils campground. Its' overall size is small (and that is why we like it) but it has beautiful views of the lake and it has a nice little beach area to play in the water or just relax in the sun. They had a cleaning service there almost everyday to clean the bath house so the gnats/bugs were kept to a minimum. The only negatives for us is that there is terrible cell phone service and they took out the washer/dryer. If you want a nice, quiet, relaxed stay in an Army Corps campground, this is the place.

We have stayed here twice in the past 6 months. It is on Lake Barkley. We stayed in lot 27 this time which was lake front. We really enjoy it here. There are nice shower houses. It isn't too far to drive into Clarksville.

Overall the campgrounds are nice. The bath house needs more attention. I know the bugs are a nuisance, but better care should be taken on a more regular basis to keep them clean. The ladies handicap shower spray support is broken and the other shower water supply indication is backwards. The shore of the area needs some attention such as cleanup if possible. The dock could also use some TLC. The attendant was very friendly and cooperative. We visit this campground each year if conditions allow.

Excellent campsite. Restrooms were cleaned on weekend but during the week they were not cleaned adequately. The washing machine and dryer were so full of bugs they were unusable.

This campground is so peaceful and quiet. The view, especially if you have a lake front spot, is fantastic. We were able to get in the water on our kayaks right there. The host is super friendly and the amenities were very clean. The camping area is all shaded. Mosquitoes and chiggers are out, so bring bug repellent. We saw an armadillo and water snakes. The walk to the beach is nice and short. Great stay, can definitely recommend Bumpus Mills. There is no cell phone service for T-Mobile.

We love this campground and try to go at least once a year. It has an excellent layout and the host is super. It is a shame that half of it was closed down some years ago. But it looks like it would not require a whole lot to reopen the closed section. Even then it would remain a relatively small campground, one of its appeals, in that it is quiet and enjoys a restful atmosphere.

Spaces are a bit close together and not very private and some hard to get into. But like the peaceful aid back feel of the campground. Would be nice if the old camping area that is blocked off were cleaned up and the road used for waling and bikes. . The host is awesome. So friendly and helpful.
