This is a small campground with only 15 sites that sits on the edge of Barkley Lake. All sites have power and water hookups and the dump station is just up the road. The layout is a tiered design so all sites have a water view of some sort. We stayed at site 29 which is near the middle but also closer to the bathhouse than most of the other sites. Sunsets over the lake were wonderful, however, there is almost no cell reception and over-the-air TV reception was spotty if anything at all. This is a decent place to come if you want to get away from civilization and love being on the lake. However, the facilities need major improving. The bathhouse is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. The inside is covered in bugs, insects and things you don’t want to shower with. The counter tops are falling apart and everything which is metal is rusted. The coin operated laundry machines located outside behind the bathhouse were not operable and look like they haven’t worked in years. They’re also covered in dead bugs and the inside of the washing machine is an insect cemetery. We were here for two weeks so the disgusting/inoperable laundry facilities were a major disappointment as this is one of the main reasons we chose this place. The closest laundromat was in Clarksville about 45 minutes away. It’s called The Dutchman’s Laundromat and it was great considering we had no other options nearby. It’s very frustrating to see a site advertise laundry facilities when they haven’t been working in so long.
