This was a beautiful area to camp and enjoy the reservoir. Great place for dogs and kids too. The path to access the water through the campground is a nice feature; but can be a little difficult with much weight so take a rolling cart or multiple hands. You can drive down and pay $5 to park in the day use if needed to unload kayaks and SUP but still a little path to get to water; not a ramp. The water was like glass when we went, gorgeous and really enjoyed it. Only negative; campsites are pretty much dirt (due to fire dangers I assume they are keeping all debris removed) and some only have small amounts of shade; bring umbrella and mats to make it even better. We will be back!

If there is no water and there isn’t availability to make a fire why is the site open. Site should remain closed.

We ended up leaving same day.
It was likely just not the right day/time of year/or even year in general.
The water level was so low. Three was no “beach” left. Getting into the water was either on sharp rocks or knee deep mud with sharp rocks below that. Probably due to the limited water the wasps were really bad. Our party was stung multiple times. The wasps were bad at the lake in the mud and at the campground. We are used to a couple pestering us while eating, but these were swarming us and the dogs while eating. We chose to cut our losses, let the wasps win and went back home for a stay-cation.
The campground itself was ok, there was lots of wood left by our fire ring, which would have been a plus had we stayed the night. The site #3 was full sun in the heat of the day, another double site would be a better choice. There are 2 others just above #3. There was also a lot of small trash, cigarette butts and bottle caps, etc. in our site.
