Nice private camp sites. The outhouses are very nicely kept...very clean. We did experience lots of dogs barking with the main offender being the camp host's big dog. It's a gorgeous lake and we had good fishing. My only other comment is that the road in the campground is in desperate need of brush clearing. Ther road is fairly narrow and there are several curves on the road where you just pray someone isn't coming the other way.

Nice campground with well-maintained facilities and some excellent lakeside camping sites. We enjoyed the quiet setting and time spent on the lake. Our site, as well as many of the others, had a convenient landing for kayaks that made lake access very easy. Would definitely stay here again.

Camp host is great but his dog needs to be on a leash!!!!! Dog ran at and knocked my niece over. It is uncontrolled off leash and a danger to children.

Nice place to camp. If using a tent, you may want to bring a rake to smooth out some of the erosion issues happening.

We were able to get our favorite camping spot! The campground host was very friendly. The toilets were always clean and stocked! Bring mosquito nets. I used Irish spring soap by our door of the RV to help
Keep mosquitos bearable. We also have a gazebo that is very easy to put up, so sat in there to read later in the day.
Fill your RV tank at Gooseberry Falls before going up to the lake. Otherwise it will take forever to fill from the pump. Can empty tanks in Silver bay at the municipal site.
Bring extra bottles for drinking water from the pump.
PS. Can get some Verizon service at campsite #7 by the water

We have been going here for years!! The camp host (Jack)is very nice and helpful. The road inside the campground needs a lot of work though. It needs the brush cleared back. It gets so you could have a collision on the corners if you meet a car. The road also needs to be graded because there are several very deep pot holes. Also lots of the camp site need brushing out to help with bug control.

Great campground and camp host. Cleanest vault toilets I’ve ever seen. Absolutely a beautiful place and definitely what you think of for a picturesque slice of Northern MN.

No cell signal, no radio reception (beyond the weather radio). Campsite 29 right on the lake. Pulled the kayaks right on shore - the entire lake is great for kayaking. Spotless restrooms.Best COVID camping ever.

Crescent Lake is the best of both worlds. You have the BWCAW right across the road (The Grade) so there's very little air traffic above, and yet you have the ability to pack all the gear you need and camp out of the car. So far I've seen two wolves, tons of deer, one moose, and zero bears... bald eagles, actually birds galore. Loads of grouse. Hummingbirds everywhere so if you're a fan of those you'll go crazy. Sawbill Outfitters manages the grounds very well. Clean, well maintained, vault toilet houses, and a couple of places to get water. You can get firewood from Jack the host at site 32, or over at Sawbill Canoe Outfitters at Sawbill Lake. It's rustic, and you're looking at 25-30 miles of gravel logging road to get to Crescent Lake, but it's well worth the effort. Walleye, smallies, and Muskies seem to be the majority of the fish, and there are literally dozens of other lakes in the area to check out. There is ZERO cell service, although Sawbill canoe Outfitters about 20 miles away is a WiFi hotspot. I highly recommend Crescent Lake! - Mike from Chicago
