We tent camped two nights at Pfieffer Lake. After searching the campground for water, and concluding that there was none, another camper told us that it was on the wall of an unmarked brown building near our campsite. Campgrounds always have the water marked with a sign. Not here. There are no showers or flush toilets, and the campsites are not secluded enough to enjoy bathing outdoors. The lake has no beach, grass to the water line, and a rocky bottom. Toilets were clean with paper but no hand sanitizer. Our reservation was marked wrong on the site post, but we couldn't ever find the host to make sure they didn't expect us to leave on the date shown.

We stayed in two campsites with our scout troop. The sites were well maintained and the perfect space. The pictures do a good job of showing what to expect at each campsite. The scouts went fishing and enjoyed cooking meals over the cookstove, since we were under high fire danger over the weekend. The scouts agreed that we would happily camp here again.

Quiet and peaceful. The restrooms for the cleanest I've ever seen. Thanks

we used this campground for a launching point for the boundary waters and it worked great.

This is very nice and fun for people who want to feel a more rustic camping. The campsites are large enough for those who use campers and it seems more camping places are dropping lawn space for tents, this lake still has sites that offer great tent space for the more adventurous types. There is fresh water to be had and the bathrooms are permanent "outhouses". The water is lovely and clear if you want a nice swimming lake for the family. The lake itself is small and best for the smaller boats. Water sporting is done on the lake, though not as often due to the space of it.
You will hear loons in the morning and evenings, may even see an eagle or two and some deer. There is a hiking trail around the lake.
I really like this place it can be peaceful and there are times it can be a little lively. It has never been outrageous or crazy.
This is the place for a more "disconnected" experience. the only power you will have is via vehicle or generator.
