The site was almost clean. The view is amazing. The bugs were epic. It’s just a great sight.

Nice quiet campground.

Bathrooms/outhouses were not cleaned regularly. Other campgrounds we have used are much better maintained. They even had hand sanitizer. We realize that the campground is getting heavy use but the floors never looked like they had been cleaned. We stayed 3 nights.

Very clean, quiet campground that gives you the full boundary water vibes. It’s an annual trip I take! Always look forward to it!

Take a screenshot of your reservation confirmation page. Download offline maps ahead of time. Take screenshots of the weather forecast before you enter the Gunflint Trail. Drive slow on the gunflint. Wildlife, children, and domesticated pets live here.

Bears do visit your site:) The wildlife is abundant.

Research the individual campsites ahead of time if you have specific preferences about the level of privacy you want. Site 22 is very visible, very small, and 50 ft from the bathroom. Sites 15/16/17 are on a trail that is pushed back from parking, but some are not private from each other. 21 & 23 are more private and larger.

Be peaceful. People travel long distances to come here. This is a space for laughter, but be mindful of other guests, especially when traveling to the restrooms or driving. Put your pet on a leash when not directly in your site (the main road, exploring). When exploring, DON'T enter other occupied or reserved sites.

ALWAYS practice bear and rodent food protocol. That includes your gray water from dishes or brushing your teeth, putting your trash and food in your vehicle or up in a tree, and the removal of your pet waste.

Pick up before you leave, even if it was there before you were.

Check-in isn't until 2pm, but check-out is at 11am. Other campers within the campground often book other sites for the next day. They are waiting for you to leave while newcomers are waiting for them to leave.
