Love this campground. Always quiet and most campers are respectful and quiet. The only negative to our most recent stay was that the fire ring should have been cleaned out - it was full of actual trash from the previous campers.

Cottonwood is a nice well cared for federal campground. We stayed on the north side by the disc golf course. Shady spots along here are great for summer camping.

Beautiful park with plenty of green space and cottonwood trees. Its nice to not be packed in, enough room between sites. Bathhouses are kept clean and water pressure is great. Hiking and biking path nearby. Fishing on Lake Yankton is allowed, from shore or non-motorized boat. One can canoe or kayak on the lake.

We stayed at campsite and sprayed around our camper without posted notices. Did not notify beforehand about sprays or what was to be sprayed, for those with allergies. Seemed to disturb wildlife since a snake cameout the next day, beautiful white ducks left and fire ants began to come inside and the flies began to bite us.

We love the peacefulness of this place. Whether it's windy or calm it's still beautiful. The fishing is always an adventure. The shower and bathroom facilities are wonderful and always clean. We always make an annual camping trip to Cottonwood!

A very nice clean campground Camp host were very friendly, nice little pond with geese and pelicans. Also great place for children to fish. The meridian Bridge in Yankton is a nice little walk and you can lock your padlock on the bridge. Enjoyed the area.

Campsites are always clean, bathroom are always clean camp hosts are friendly and very helpful. The bathrooms are very humid and people with breathing problems can not shower in them. maybe it would be nice to have a horseshoe pit. All in all if you leave it like it is it is still a very nice campground. The one bathroom could use a little improvement the floors in the showers are not very nice they get real slick real fast.

Other than being a hot July 4th weekend. It was a great area! Nice view of the lake. It was quiet. The Bathrooms were super clean. The water pressure and hot water available were better than my RV. No WiFi but the Verizon Hotspot worked great for internet connection. The campgrounds and spots were clean and kept up. It would be awesome if they had full hookups.

We miss having a camp ground host. People have questions and used to going to a campground host and there isn't one.The fire pits are not cleaned before we get there nor they are not cleaned while we're there. The bathroom showers have dried dirt and sand and the floor has to be washed down before a person can take a shower and this is after its been cleaned. Rumor is that there will not be a person in the booth and it'll only be a volunteered position. There are no tickets At the sites to tell if the site has someone coming in and when they are leaving. The person in the booth is not allowed to help people to make reservations especially those who do not use or have computers. Also people who don't speak real good English need help in making the reservations Full time RVers sometimes will just stop to get a spot and are unable to get online and cannot get thru on the phone.
