Good and cheap place to stay

This is a great location for a relaxing getaway….nestled between red rock cliffs, with the lake close by and the brilliant stars shining so clearly at night time.

Campground is very quiet. The lake is easy to launch a kayak in. Water is clean and cold. Wind Cave NP is near by as well as Jewel Cave NM. Don't miss Custer State Park for wildlife and other recreation. There's a fee (a license) but you can do daily, weekly or annual. Works for the other State Parks. So many bison. Be sure to pick up one of the driving maps for the Black Hills (available just about anywhere you stop) and try to drive every road. The ranger at ColdBrook can also make recommendations if you have very limited time. They'll usually come around once a day & likely stop by the day you arrive. Crazy Horse and Mt Rushmore are also nearby. Pit toilet, but Wind Cave NP visitor center is about 6 miles away.

This little campground was so beautiful, tucked away in the hills with a Great Lake to swim around in too.

Nice quiet campground. Lake was really nice to Kayak on.
