We had a lovely time camping here over Labor Day weekend. The main sites lack significant shade, but we didn't really notice. My only complaint was the campground host harassing my elderly uncle when he stopped momentarily at the intersection to see where we were meeting for a picnic. She had no patience to hear why he was stopped. Other interactions with her also proved to be challenging, she seems a little abrasive in general. This had no bearing on the campground itself, obviously. Overall it was a delightful weekend.

Great campgrounds! No showers, but the bathrooms were clean. There were A LOT of flies - so bug spray and candles are a must. Lake is beautiful, we saw a few turtles. Water is clear. Quiet at night, all around great experience

Campground was calm and peaceful. Host and Corps Ranger were super friendly and helpful.

I grew up in the surrounding area. The improvements are great! Fishing is good and the scenery is to die for! Great picture taking opportunities with wild life as well!
I do feel politics are involved and should not be, thus my rating. The camp host should not openly display his political opinions. I believe that every persons life is of the up most importance! I refuse to reduce it to a single race. As an American Indian, the Black Hills are sacred. I don’t and won’t put a poster up about the wrong the American Indians underwent! Sorry to say, I visited the camp ground until I saw the Camp Hosts political opinion openly displayed.

Very scenic campground. Nice lake. The speed bumps driving in I think are a bit excessive (too many and very abrupt) but probably needed due to all the traffic coming and going to the lake area. Note...sites close to the entrance see quite a bit of traffic and when the wind is right and the road dry...lots of dust. Try to get sites further in the campground. A lot of the sites are not very deep. Site one was good for us with a 33 foot 5th wheel but you are right at the entrance.

We felt safe and everyone was super friendly. The site’s fire pit was cleaned out when we arrived & you can tell the pit toilets are cleaned regularly. We had cell phone reception the whole time and there is a water pump for clean water. The scenery was beautiful and it was a five minute walk from the the lake!

The campground has little to no trees near the campsites, which made it hot sitting in the sun. Also, because the site we chose was close to the creek, it was full of mosquitos.
