Many things. For one, this camp site does not meet the chargable/reservable campground description. The description as it is stated on the recreation webpage is a camping site that requires a fee, that hosts SINGULAR camp spots. This camp ground is not purely singular camp spots. Sites 8-11 all share 1 large piece of grass with no barriers (brush, foliage)This is NOT a singular camp site, this is a shared campsite. A shared campsite that you are being charged 22$ a night for, when the description doesn't line up with what you're paying for. This camp site is a joke. On top of the shared camping, you are a stones throw away from the highway. That's not a joke. You could hit a car by throwing a rock in that direction, you can see it and hear it. You're right on a more stagnant than flowing river, and there's gnarly bugs everywhere. This campsite SUCKS. there is a reason there is so much availability here, it sucks. And they wouldn't provide me a refund, I paid $52 to share a camp site with 3 other groups, a stones throw off the highway, by a buggy river, we were so upset we left early. This campground should be FREE. you have absolutely no business charging people at all.

We were looking for a quiet campground, and though this was close to Highway 101 the activity at the campground was nice and quiet. However our site was unbelievably close to the site next to us with no trees or bushes for any separation/privacy. There were three sites in a row: 8, 9, and 10 like this. Maybe if it was just two sites it wouldnt of been so bad, but since all three were occupied it was pretty uncomfortable. I wont stay at this campground again.

There is only one set of M/F vault toilets for this campground, and this is insufficient when the campground is full, which it was on Mon. July 26, and apparently was over the preceding weekend. It appears the toilets were not serviced over the weekend, as there was no toilet paper available on that Monday! The USFS did not arrive at the campground until about 3pm on Monday! Afterwards, the men's toilet was locked later that afternoon, somehow, until someone forced it open with a screwdriver. The campground layout is poor regarding privacy as several sites along the river are open to each other. This important detail is not available from the USFS or recreation.gov, so one cannot choose a site based upon this info. There was no volunteer host, and that site was closed. We appreciated the maps posted at the boatramp, however the one describing the floating toilet on Siltcoos Lake was incorrect, as the toilet was not found at the specified location on that map.

Too close to the highway, and the campsites were very small and crammed together.

The bathrooms were not taken care of while there. Toilet paper in women’s room out for 2 days. Finally someone brought in a roll of their own. The volunteer camp host was marked as “Off Duty” the 4 full days we stayed. We still enjoyed it and had a great time. Very small, quiet campground.
