Not so good things - When we checked in with the camp host, she advised us that someone was taking ice chests, gas cans, generators and other things. So when we left to go on rides, to town and at night; we locked everything up and did not leave anything in the locked gas cans. The first night my son-in-law's generator was stolen from beside his trailer. He had it cabled and locked to his trailer. The thieves were still able to take it. His trailer was not more than 50 feet from our trailer. It is very unnerving to know there are people walking around the campground, even your own campsite, looking for things to take.
Because we were not allowed to fill our trailer with water at the campground, we had to haul our potable water from home (Oroville, CA 421 miles away).
There are flush toilets and showers but also a few problems. The men's bathroom by the camp host had only one operating toilet and the other bathroom only had one. Not enough for all the men campers.
Showers-At first there were only 2 showers for the whole campground neither had very good water pressure. You could almost count the water droplets, and you had to stand almost touching the wall to get the water to cover you. During the second week of camping, more showers opened up but the pressure was still very low. Campers from the sand camps were allowed to shower and use the bathroom facilities. There was one sand camp set up at the entrance to the flats that had approximately 50 campers (maybe more). When they came in to shower and use the bathroom facilities, there were lines 3 and 4 people deep for the showers and no access to the bathrooms. The campers at Driftwood (camping on the blacktop) learned that they needed to show and use the bathrooms before 8am and 8pm, because they would be used by the sand campers until 10am and 10pm.
