We have been camping at the lake for over 30 years and are very disappointed at the condition of the camp sites and the ramp. sites are poorly maintained and ther amp is falling apart to the point of being unusable .

This campsite has a beautiful view of the lake, and that is basically the only good thing about it. The ground is so rutted from RVs that it is difficult to find a level spot for a tent -- and if you have a large tent you'll probably be out of luck. There is absolutely no shade or privacy screening -- only a flimsy rail fence separates the site from the adjacent site. The site was scattered with little pieces of trash and bordered by thick tangles of blackberry (which at least were ripe when I was there). The highway noise was audible but not as loud as on the shoulder I suppose. The campground has a vault toilet but no running water, yet it costs the same as a nearby campground with potable water and flush toilets. Save your money and find a back road to camp on,

Such a beautiful location and my camp spot had a wonderful view of the lake. Love it!
The camp hosts were super friendly and helpful.
This was my second stay. kayaking and the beauty is exceptional, as is the hosts.

Some sights are not deep enough for a 20’ trailer and a vehicle. The fire pit I had was to close to my camper to have a fire. Our space had very uneven slopes. Fun lake to fish and now we know the spaces better. I would advise anyone to not reserve until you look. Then go to the top of the hill on hwy 101 south of there about a mile where you can get cellular signal to reserve. If it’s available?

We actually stayed at the Tahkenwitch Campground across the street in error but happily met Campground host Gypsy who is very informative and helpful. The campground is small and beautifully situated in the forest but roadway is audible from one side of the loop

Beautiful lake, warm enuf for swimming. Smaller campsites but well maintained and if you spend most of your time on or in the lake no worries. Mostly folks congenial. Next door neighbor had an aggressive poorly trained pit bull but she kept poor thing in car most of time.

Hosts superlative. One female, one male toilet not enuf for the numbers but was kept clean. Place is full up most weekends so during the week an extra pleasure. Open all year. Good bass lake, good kayaking. Short trip to Florence for supplies. Nice walk to ocean thru Tahkenitch campground , a quarter mile? to trailhead.

Beautiful lake view but little space at campsite, not level, no privacy. I stayed at site #3 to be close to the water. And there is no running water at the site!

We were the only people in view, we camped feet from the lake and the sunrise was spectacular. It had just stormed the night before our stay so the ground was wet but we camped in a rooftop tent so the wet grass didn't bother us. The area was clean and the host was great as well. Would recommend especially during the off season when you get the lake to yourself like we had it.
