It was just ok, but passing thru it was a great stopping place. Quite and peaceful

The reservation procedure is confusing, seems like you have to reserve each day instead of picking when you come and leave. not friendly for us older people. I like the camp ground being so close to the lake.

I'm almost hesitant to write a good review, given how quickly stampeded the good places get nowadays. Hopefully, not too many people will see this :) :)

This lakeside campground is a little gem. It does not have water, but otherwise, it's a great place to just get away, relax, fish, swim in the summer, boat, all the things you go camping for. During the summer, the campground a quarter mile up the road has water, otherwise remember to bring enough for your trip. There are no flush toilets but the vault toilets are large, well maintained and not at all unpleasant.

There are some really private spots, some less so that make for good congregating, and some that overlook the water. The area as a whole is well forested so all sites have good shade during at least some part of the day. The lake is simply beautiful - large and tranquil, with many intriguing branches. There is some traffic noise from highway 101 that may take a little getting used to, especially at night.

The hosts for several years now, Rod and Cindy, are two of the best Forest Service hosts I've ever encountered. They are friendly without being intrusive, make sure the area is kept up, and have been readily available to answer questions and help with any issues that come up.

Maybe best of all in this area, it doesn't seem to attract the ATV crowd. That in itself is a huge plus.

All this said, it's awful. Really, you'll hate it. Go somewhere else! (and let the rest of us enjoy it in uncrowded peace :) ).

Camp hosts were nice. We loved the lake. The site had a lot of broken glass and smelled like urine. Our campers next door partied until 2am with loud music and puking and urinating in the bushes next to our site. Also the garbage was very stinky. But husband said it was because of the fish. We liked the actual campgrounds.

Small campground. Most sites had good privacy.
