Campground is 9.5/10 as the tent locations are a little close to your neighbors. Bathrooms are alright, a bit of a fly problem. The only problem we had was our drive up to the actual site. If youre driving from Shaver Lake you can choose to take the long way around Huntington Lake which was apprx. 40min from Shaver. The recommended google route has you go up 20mins of a single lane, 2-way road with blind corners and box trucks coming at you. The road is wide enough for both cars but its uncomfortable anything above 15-20mph. On the way down that road, the decline wants to keep your car going 35+ which was even worse.

The camp attendants were so helpful, engaging, and friendly. The site was clean and beautiful and easy to access. We look forward to our annual visit and the only thing we don't like is that we cannot go more often.

The Lower Billy Creek Campground survived the 400,000 acre Creek Fire from 2020. The facilities were clean and were in good shape. The lake front view of Huntington Lake, especially after a mid-Summer rain shower is second to none! The lake was 94% full as of early July 2021 with good fishing from Dam #3. If you hike along the trail along the Lake, you can see the burnt trees all the ways down to the water's edge in some sections of the Lake. However, the flora and fauna near Lower Billy Creek is intact. The Lakeside Cottages across the Lake also survived the Creek Fire.
