The campsites were clean. The 2nd bathroom was the cleanest, even smelled good! The one closest to the lower numbered sites, was gross and filled with flies. The river is about a 10-minute, mild hike down (with lots of bugs flying into your eyes, ears, nose & mouth), but a strenuous hike up!Bring water, bug spray, yellow jacket traps, or a zip closed canopy to eat under.Neighbors were decent, except the campers at site 2 & 3, as they came back to camp each night around 9pm and then partied until 11:30pm! We were hoping the camphost would shut them down earlier, but it never happened. We loved that the camphoat had our parking permit, and information ready for us at the campsite! No need to check-in!

Well maintained campsite even though it is not as developed as some others. The campground was generally great, secluded in a beautiful wooded setting, and wonderfully quiet. The vault toilets were surprisingly well-kept. The only complaint we had was that many of the sites (if not all) were not level and finding a semi-level place for a larger tent (6 person for us) was difficult and the picnic tables were uneven as well. Overall, quite pleased.

The latrines were very clean and new. It is a beautiful hilly area. While one site we looked at didn't have a very flat area to pitch a tent, the others did. If you don't mind bringing your own water, it is a very nice site.

Was a gorgeous campsite! Encountered a lot of yellow jackets while cooking food but otherwise was a nice and quiet area.

Lovely peaceful, wooded location for a basic, well-maintained campground. Forests, a creek, and alpine meadows to explore nearby. Bass Lake is not that far away if you want some time on the water or need supplies. We much preferred the back-to-nature vibe at Chilkoot over the bustling and at times noisy lakeside campgrounds.
