Generally nicely laid out camp sites with good access to water and toilets. tent areas tend to be large but often slope. Easy access to hike to sequoia groves.

Only stayed one night @ site 17. One of the better sites - this dead end cul de sac has the best ones at Atwell - large and neighbors only on one side. Clean pit toilet a short walk away.

I had a very enjoyable stay at Atwell Mills campground. The area was beautiful, the late season crowds were low, and bathroom was very clean and odor free.

The water is great at Atwell. Nice hikes available nearby with excellent California Big Trees!!!! Clean also.

Lots of wasps and a bit scary driving to the campsite, but overall it was great

Absolutely stunning place! You are in the trees! The road is a bit grueling to go up and down but staying here and hiking the Mineral King area is the BEST! Very few people venture up, you often have times of complete solitude. Easy access to trash bins, bathroom, running water, and several trail heads. Park ranger informed us that during the summer marmots are not a problem in the campground but might be a problem at the end of the road. We saw a mamma bear and her cub frequently here, use of the near by bear box was very easy. I recommend this campground to anyone who is trying to skip the super touristy parts of Sequoia, it is magical!

Camped out at #17 and absolutely loved it! There was a trail near to our campsite but far enough away that we didn't hear anyone.

Fantastic hide-a-way! Excluded shady camp ground located near two amazing sequoia groves. Sites are very clean and spacious. Tough drive back into Mineral King but well worth it!
