Our time at Redwood Meadows Campground was a true escape into nature. The serenity of the surroundings, the towering sequoia trees, and the crystal-clear creeks created an atmosphere of tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. Whether you're an avid hiker, a nature enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, this campground offers it all. Darin, our host, truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. His warm welcome and willingness to assist with any questions or requests made us feel right at home. His extensive knowledge of the area, including insider tips on the best hiking trails and hidden gems, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip.

Yurt was as expected and great!
Camp hosts were not attending & gift shop was closed so no ability to find answers to campfire questions, no information on campground board about campfires, had to drive 2 hrs round trip (to Kernville) since the forest fire office location 20min downhill had the gates locked and no one was there during office hours (2:00pm). Wasted a good part of my families vacation day trying to get a fire permit & assuring there was not a fire ban in place. Having info on the campground board would’ve been simple with instructions on what to do. The US Forest Fire service & campground does not make it easy to do the right thing!

We had two campsites and a Yurt. Beautiful campground, amazing place, and incredibly helpful campground hosts. They were fantastic and very welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful, tiny campground (somewhere around 14 sites, with the majority being canvas yurts erected on sturdy wooden platforms. Surrounded by sequoias and pines. Next to a meadow and creek. Across the street from the Sequoia National Monument’s wonderful Trail of 100 Giants. Staying in this campground allowed us to visit the 100 Giants early in the morning and again after dark, when there were virtually no other visitors. Midday, we beat the July heat by seeking out nearby waterfalls and bedrock pools to bathe in and relax beside. The campground was clean, and its two pit toilets were spotless, well-stocked with TP, and not particularly smelly, all things considered. The hosts and all the other campers were very friendly. It’s a quiet place, the only exception being an intermittently-functioning generator attached to a windowless, air-conditioned trailer parked next to the small gift shoppe located inside the large administrative yurt (?). Our large yurt was lovely, clean, and comfy... except during the midday heat (mid-90’s) at which time it became a veritable solar oven. Hence, our retreat to waterfalls, and our occasional naps under the campground sequoias. Be advised: there is absolutely NO piped water at this campground, and the nearby creeks are unreliable. Bring your own water for your stay.

Darren, was the absolute best camp host I have ever had. He helped navigate the area and provided fire wood in a pinch. The yurts were simple but clean. They get very hot in the sun. The forest was beautiful. The camp has no showers and no flush toilets and NO RUNNING WATER. They said this was because of a state order but other CA camps had the water turned on. The toilet was cleaned daily but it was very aromatic and the flies were aggressive. The store didn't have operating hours and opened between 10-10:30 every other day.

Darren and his wife were great hosts. Very helpful and informative. We lived our stay in yurt 10 and will be returning.
