This place is awesome; the pictures online make it look more run down than it is. It is comfortable, well appointed, and relatively clean. It's got everything you need to cook (minus the food, stock up beforehand) and all the appliances worked well. You'll need to bring blankets and pillows, but the beds did have fitted sheets.There is no cell service throughout most of the surrounding area, so take a quick drive and short hike to dome rock if you need it. If you plan to make a campfire, make sure you get a campfire permit from US Forest Service beforehand. There are plenty of hiking options nearby or within 30-60 mins drive.

6/2026 - Cabin comes with standard kitchen necessities, standard bathroom necessities, bring sheets and blankets, AC/Heater, outdoor grill, fire pit, host carries local firewood for purchase (when host is onsite). Trail right across the street, dome rock (cell service ), 100giant trail. A couple places to eat or bring your own to cook. Even after the fire the place is still majestic and beautiful!

Such a great experience! We had an amazing time exploring, the cabin was well stocked and everything went well. The camp host Tim was exceptional as well as the staff answering the phone before we arrived. Everyone working for the site was kind, friendly and extremely helpful. The area was well kept and clean. The grounds were clean. We spent a lot of time sightseeing in the bear by area at 100 giants, dome rock and ponderosa. I would recommend 10/10. All around great trip!! Thank you!

Overall, our visit to the Quaking Aspen cabin was fine. We had a roof over our head and a bed to sleep on. The scenery getting to the cabin was beautiful. The campground was quiet. It was really close to the Trail of 100 Giants, which seemed to me like such a hidden gem; when planning this trip, it didn't even come across the radar.There was no access to the closest grocery store/market because of the damaged road. I really wish I'd known that in advance because it was a real downer having to drive so far (at least an hour one way) to buy groceries. Make sure you stock up before you get to the cabin. We would have done that, but our timeline didn't allow for it.There were no instructions for check in or check out. We arrived pretty late the first day and I had to disturb the camp host (who was off duty) just to get access to the cabin. It would have been nice to get an email or text from recreation.gov with the code to the door. Also wish there had been a notebook or something inside the cabin with all the various rules and procedures for the cabin and who to contact if we had any issues. Every short term rental I've ever stayed in has had something similar to that.The cabin itself had pros and cons, which I'll outline below.Pros -Kitchen well equipped-fire pit-hot water-games in the closet-no internet or data access; very peacefulCons-zero water pressure from bathroom sink; water came out barely a trickle-half the shower head didn't spray-the water wouldn't turn all the way off in the shower no matter how hard we turned the knobs-couldn't plug the tub for baths; speaking of which, the tub really could use a deep clean.-couldnt plug the sink to wash dishes-couldn't figure out why it got so cold at night until right when we were leaving when I realized the window was open. Tried to close it, but I wasn't sure how to because of the type of window casing it was.

I stayed at this cabin in the 2022 Labor day weekend. It was peak of heat wave in the California. But in this cabin, it was not that hot, around 80 degree. Without A/C, I was totally ok. This property has 1 bedroom (1 queen bed and 1 twin bunk bed), 1 living room (a futon, 3 people seating couch, and 6 people dining table), 1 full bathroom(not very clean), and 1 kitchen(refrigerator, microwave, electric coil stove with oven, dishes, pots, pans, oven pan, cups, bowls, utensils, cutlery, and etc.). At the back of cabin, there is a picnic table, a firepit, and BBQ grill(like public park picnic area). This cabin has furnace, I didn't use it though.

I could go to Ponderosa, I could use their wifi. I didn't check if there is cellular service. When I prepare my stay, I was not sure what to bring. Now I can give this info for next visitors. You need bedsheets and blanket(or sleeping bag), extra toilet paper/paper towel, toiletries, towels, and trash bags. There is no TV or any other digital devices. If you are a beginner camper, this can be good alternative. You can get hot shower and sleeping on the bed. 1 little complaining could be microwave open button, which is not working very well. This cabin is not bug free, but much better than a tent. From this campground towards Camp Nelson, there were lots of buring trees. Bushes were growing lively, but not the trees, yet. Many trails are closed. But I could enjoy water play near Johnsondale bridge or Tule river power plant. I wish this review is helpful for next visitors. Thank you.

Had a great time in this perfect cabin. Camp host was super helpful and the camp site was very well taken care of. My family had a blast.

The cabin was fine, however, most of the trails in the area were closed due to the forest fire. I could not go hiking, or, sightseeing. I just stayed inside the cabin for 2 days, and, went home. How boaring!

My experience here was that of great one!. The cabin is located near Springville Ca in Sequoia National Forrest. This newly refurnished Cabin provides a fully stocked kitchen (stove, fridge, sink, kitchen table ,cutlery & plates) 2 person bunks, king size bed, fold out bed in living the room, Washroom, and other household amenities . The back patio has a wooden picnic bench, chairs, Grill, and fire place. I didn't mind not having cell phone service out here, but some might, so be prepared in advance if that matters to you. Shout out to Matt the campground host for his hospitality and generosity throughout our stay here!. I give this Campground a 5 star rating because of the great experience I had here.
