We LOVED this place! The one & only negative is there is no campground map on the website like all the other campgrounds have. We would have chosen a different number site but couldnt remember the order they go in.

Avoid campsites 9, 10,11 and 12. They are off a ledge and spots are very small. Very dangerous for young kids. There are also no trees and sun hits all the campsites around 8 am. The rangers were rude and unreasonable. There is no potable water available so be prepared to take lots and lots of water for all your necessities. If you need ice for your coolers, the nearest store is 7 mins away( not bad) but bags of ice are $10. The only good thing about the site is the waterhole for people to swim in. Will not be returning.

Many of the sites are very small & close together. Our site (#10) would never have accommodated two tents, & there was no shade at all (as the campground boasts). We certainly had no place for 2 cars. The site with best access to the mini beach & crocodile rock is located in such a way that everyone has to walk thru the site to access those features as well. Some other sites are disproportionately larger...for the same $. Someone was on our site when we arrived, so we moved to #1 that was the only site not reserved & could accommodate 2 tents. It was the first from the entrance, by the road, & sandwiched between the garbage dumpster & the outhouses. Later found out that it was a "cash only" site, & therefore not reserved. The outhouses (let's call them what they are) are immensely stinky because they are not well maintained, IMO. Have been to many where they are chemically treated/scented to minimize disgust, & cleaned more often. The sites' tables are anchored to the ground, so you can not re-arrange to suit your needs or escape the sun. This campground was just a place to drive in stakes. Have stayed in many others in the area over the years (Headquarters, Camp 3, Hospital Flat), wouldn't return unless everything else was booked. Otherwise, the area is gorgeous & has a plethora of activities to do and see.Kim (park ranger) was immensely helpful, friendly, & accommodating. She was very informative & sweet. My only comment is that she was the first staff we saw, & it wasn't until day 3. There is no camp host at this facility & was surprised no one even comes around at check-in time to ensure the process is going smoothly. Have no idea if this has anything to do with Kim or just staffing in general, but would've been nice to have met her & received her knowledge on day one.Overall, we made the best of it, but is not our first choice and pales in comparison to other sites in the area.
