The campground itself and the site is not that spacious, but what lacks in space makes up for the beauty surrounding it. Anywhere you pitch your tent you'll have a window of a beautiful backdrop of mountains and boulders. Our camp, camp 18 is directly across the river so you can hear the relaxing water sounds all day all night. It's also very close to town, so if you've forgotten something, convenience stores and great places to eat and drink are are reasonable drive away. The grounds are clean and the vault toilets, well they are what they are and are kept reasonably clean. Definitely recommend Gold Ledge. It could potentially be the best one in the string of campgrounds in the area.

We have been going to Goldledge campground for over 20 yrs now and my kids would not want to change this site for any other place. We love this place! Our family and friends always look forward to summer because we all know it includes a visit to the Kern. It's a very family friendly place and we hopefully we can continue to enjoy it for years to come.

We enjoyed the location of the campground but people didn’t take great care of the place. Our bench was beat up and cracked. There was trash at our campsite (beer can, cigarette butts and some random plastic cutlery). There was dog poop on the walkway by the bathrooms and the walkway by our site. Great location, but too many people who don’t clean up after themselves.
