Good Alternative in Sequoia Forest if you cannot make it to Sequoia NP - 100 Giant Tree Trail 40 min drive and the riverside was great for the kids with many safe spots to play

The campground was nice not crowded at all. Only issue was when we went to check in theres somebody in our space that we have reserved. I said something with the camp host he said there was nothing he could do. Also, the Camp host did not come around to check reservations while we were there.

Fairview Campground has been taken over by another hosting company. This transfer has resulted in an unexpected change in site numbers. Site numbers on here 'rec.gov' does not reflect the numbers at the campsite. I made a reservation for a particular spot, and upon arrival, realized a site numbering problem. As a result, I was placed in a site I did not reserve. The site was significantly smaller than what I originally reserved. I talked to the camp host and was able to change to a different spot with more space. Not the spot I originally reserved because someone was occupying it.Missed matched site numbers are my biggest complaint this year, and I hope the new host address this issue.

Campground was clean and well-maintained. The host and maintenance people were around working on the facilities most of the time when we were there. It's great to have Johnny McNally's and the market and hamburger stand right next door in case you want to skip a day of cooking or get a drink. Ice was always available at the market to refill your coolers. Every place we went was dog-friendly including the market and the outside patios of the restaurant and burger stand. The Air Force makes runs a few hundred feet overhead a few times a day during the week, which makes for something different. An overall great place.
