The campground is great. We had site #22 and it had a creek running beside it. It was great for the kids to play in and explore. The bathroom and trash are next to the campground. There's no bathroom smell outside. It's a pit toilet, so there is a smell inside, but not as bad as I've smelled other places. The bathrooms were kept clean, which was a relief. There is a water spigot that we were Abel to fill from to wash dishes and take showers with. I wouldn't drink it though, it's a bit on the yellow side. Site had a fire ring. The closest camp site to us was about 30 yards away and that one is visible to us and there's another one about 50 yards away and you can sort of see it through the trees. Lucky for us both spots were empty. We walked along the dirt road in the campground and came across wild blackberries and they tasted so great. We were able to grab enough to throw in our pancakes the next morning. We didn't see any wild life in the campground, but there are deer in the area, because we saw them on the drive into the campground. When I was looking at the campground trying to decide on it, I saw that it was roughly 50min or so away from tree General Sherman Tree and General Grant Tree was about 45min away and figured that wasn't too bad. What I found out after I purchased the campground is that the road that Google Maps was taking wasn't being maintained, so we had to go the long way around, which was an hour and a half away or so from General Sherman Tree. The campground is great and it felt secluded. Got to have family time without anyone around. I just wish that one road was maintained and it would have cut down the driving time.

We loved the beauty and serenity of this campsite. Would not recommend if you dont have a 4x4 and plan to drive into Sequoia National Park. To get there, you need to take a Forestry Service road that is unpaved and rough for about 45 mins. Campsite now has bear box(es).

This is my favorite campground to visit. I first came with friends and have come back with my family since then. No there are no showers, no slabs or cellphone service but that makes it all the better. The restrooms are always clean, they can smell when it gets hot but that's to be expected. Be prepared to take the long way down and up if going out to the parks on the "paved" road or you can take the fire road if your vehicle is up to it. I have the maps for this area downloaded on to my phone and recommend everyone do the same, unless you have Verizon you will not have service and even that is spotty. There are no bear boxes but I have not had any issues just make sure you're cleaning up correctly and packing your stuff into your car. If you enjoy solitude and a bit of primitive camping this is your spot. It is a hidden gem with beautiful trees all around, silence and nature. And cows! Don't forget the cows!

Beautiful, spacious campground with nice sized sites. A great place to get away and relax. Note that if you are looking to visit the parks you either need to drive for some distance or have a car that can handle some rough road. The campground itself is beautiful.
