It was really nice to have a campground all to ourselves. The only downside was road traffic noise, but that died down during the night.

Our group had a nice time at Trap Creek campground. The area was spacious, and well equipped (i.e., outhouse and water). The views were outstanding and the wildlife quite abundant.

Campground was perfect for our groups first night before hiking in the Sawtooths. Easily accessible, decent view of the mountains, and good facilities (water pump, picnic table, fire pit, and pit toilet). Campsite is directly off the road, so if youre looking for something more remote, then this is not the campsite for you, but worked well for our group.

About 4 years ago we camped at trap creek and it was every nice. Since then there has been a forest fire, and the woods behind the campsite is all dead. There wasn't even birds back there. Just dead standing lodge poles. It used to be a nice place to walk around and explore. The Trees in the campsite were spared though.

Beautiful campground! Only negative is that it's on the main highway and the grounds were wet due to snow melt. Otherwise, it was beautiful and close to our trailhead and close to the town of Stanley.
