People dont always follow rule which is sad. Dogs on beach, not the dog beach. People came and moved our chairs on the beach while we were out paddle boarding, really people.

Campsites 8, 11, 13 are the best in the campground. All are immediately adjacent to the lake and a lovely sandy beach.

We stayed in 13 which has a low fence between the campsite and the lake. I preferred that as the lake does have public access and a bit of separation (even though you can literally step over the fence) I felt was nice.

Site 8 & 11 are open directly to the lake. If you have kayaks, etc... those sites might be preferable as you don't have to lift your gear over the fence.

******** The pit toilets are the only negative in the campground. They are appalling and I worked construction for years. I mean, bile in the back of your throat level of gross. So, if you have folks in your group who will find that objectionable, check out Glacier View Campground as it has "flush toilets" rather than the pit toilets of Outlet.*********

The cost of firewood is $10 a bundle but the bundles are larger than the ones I've seen sold by other camp hosts. There is some firewood available in Stanley too.

We rented a pontoon boat from the nearby resort and I suggest it as it was deemed the best activity by our group. The boat gives you access to a great hike to a "jumping rock" and a nice hike to a really impressive waterfall.

We also did a morning 2 hr ride(Marshall Ridge Ride) with the Mystic Saddle Ranch (phone available online). I suggest a morning ride regardless of the ride you choose as it gets warm fairly quickly and things can get uncomfortable.

Lastly, we did some fly fishing which turned out to be mostly I nice walk in the Salmon River. There is a Fly Shop in Stanley and the owner was very helpful and did not try to "upsell" or "gouge" us at all. He can fill you in on where to fish in the river (we didn't follow his advice to my chagrin). The fishing licenses are sold by the Lower Stanley General Store which is just a few miles away from the fly shop.

It's hard to get a reservation but if you can get here you will have a great time and remember: 8,11,13!
