Many flat, well spaced sites in old growth ponderosa pine with a friendly manager. Cell service is weak, but worked. The falls are about a mile down the paved road then another short hike down a trail

Very nice site. Only drawback is other campers traipsing through to collect firewood.Campground in general doesnt appear well cared for in this regard:Overflowing garbage, toilets not cleaned - bring your own toilet paper.Found it interesting that there seems to be total disregard for preventing bear encounters - overflowing garbage, ice chests etc left out by many campers.Wish the information regarding which loops were generator free was updated to current year.Be careful which site you choose as many were totally flooded after heavy rain.Would definitely return again knowing in advance what to expect from general site.

It was one of the last weekends of summer and the campground was nearly booked. We reserved #24 in loop2. When we arrived there were two motorcyclists already camping in our spot. They said they had looked for a host or a Ranger and found none. We drove around to find a ranger or host and also found none. The motorcyclists asked us to use another spot, but we were here for three nights and our chances of getting booted ourselves was really high. Eventually the motorcyclists left but our site was a sloper. Very inadequate for a tent.
We made the best of it and said we'd get another site when the host comes around, they always have a few spares. For the entire 3 nights -- no host, no ranger. This trip was easily salvageable by having someone there at the campground. I'll be asking for a refund. I had a great experience in the spring here (and we had a great host) but this trip was uncomfortable and waste of time.

Large sites in pine forest and dispersed from another. Route 4 from from Los Alamos west, is a steep winding road to get up on to the caldera. With a trailer a better alternative to the area may be from the south up the Jemez River and the village of Jemez Springs. Fire has destroyed a lot in the area recently. However Jemez Falls and campground are untouched

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
