The Recreation.gov site kept changing the selected dates which resulted in a one night reservation rather than a 2 night reservation that we needed. The system was not very intuitive at all and was very confusing. The Recreation.gov site is NOT a production grade website. The $8 reservation fee is extremely expensive just to place a reservation. We feel that we were cheated and ripped-off. When I make a reservation at a hotel, airline, or anywhere else there is NO reservation fee......NONE!!! The camping fee of $20 is enough compensation for the one day rental of a pick-nick table and fire ring. There is no need to force us to pay an additional reservation. This is tantamount to STEALING. That park was bought, paid for, and maintained by taxpayer monies. I happen to be a 68 year old tax payer.

Beautiful area. Only thing was that there was a lot of trash at my campsite on loop 1, site 18. I’m guessing it was just irresponsible campers and/or children, but I wish that there was better enforcement on people who don’t clean up after themselves. Maybe the campsite host could go check sites when people check out and find people who don’t clean up :)

Everything was great except for the rain and the guy going around stealing wood from all the campsites. These two items are not the fault of the campground/host so please take them with a grain of salt. Wonderful views and awesome nature walks. Would return in a heartbeat! :)

Very clean and comfortable campsite near Valles Calderas and Jemez Falls! The hike to Jemez Falls is just beautiful and the Falls and surrounding area are amazing. We hiked there every evening! Very convenient to Los Alamos too.

we love Jemez falls campground. it is always beautiful, clean and provides a diverse sample of wildlife in a uniquely wild forest environment We highly recommend it for all campers, old hands like us and new patrons as well.

This was our first time camping on our own which made us a little nervous but everything went smoothly. Spacious campgrounds, decent distance between you and the other groups around you, the campground was easy to navigate and everyone was super helpful. 10/10 recommend.
