Wonderful Spot

A beautiful well laid out campground. Lots of space between sites, lots of trees. Good hiking trails. Remember that you’ll be at high elevation—8,000 feet. Many people and pets will require some time to adjust.

There was some camper in my Spot that I had reserved on-line prior to our stay, The park Ranger relocated them very safely, properly, and respectfully.

A beautiful, well maintained, and quiet campground. We enjoyed our trip a lot. One thing to be aware of though is that spot 41 is lumped into the no generator section even though its in loop 3 and not loop 4 which is listed as the no generator loop on the website. The website really needs to accurately reflect this for those of us booking that spot.

The campground was pristine and the public toilet facilities looked immaculate. The camp hosts were COVID-19 personal protection equipped, friendly and helpful. Of course, a lot of the state operated facilities were not available- like the fish hatchery area and the Valles Caldera welcome center. Water was not available, but we were informed ahead of time that the campground had no amenities. We loved it and will be back
