Clear Creek CG is one of the finest sites we have enjoyed in NM, ever. All roads to and inside the site are paved, each camp site has a paved pad around the FS picnic table & fire pit. The water table is low, but the creek is flowing. Potable (cold & fresh) water via a hand-pump is working fine. Pit-toilets were clean & well stocked. Bring bug spray & fly traps. The forest is mature, large diameter mixed conifers & aspen. We discovered "abandoned" FS roads all around the CG venturing into the NF in "almost every" direction; the slopes are generally moderate hiking level; mountain biking I would rate moderate +; easy-peasy FT are limited to the valley floor. It's a 3-mile drive on FS 70 from NM 126 to TH for San Gregorio Reservoir, a very nice lake inside the San Pedro Wilderness that's less than a mile to hike on a easy grade FT that is well maintained (read, good family hike with children.) Cellphone coverage is very low to gone, it's hit & miss where to get just 1 bar in the CG or in this general area. Back to NM 126 drive (and out) the highway is well maintained, but steep in many places; slow going up and "watch the brakes" driving out & down to Cuba, NM (which have small general stores & fuel.) Please do not go to this campsite so we can have our pick of reservation dates on the required Recreation.gov website ;) Cheers & enjoy...

Wow, what a gem of a campground! So glad to have camped here vs the neighboring District to the SE. The host, Joe, was most hospitable and a hard worker. His pride showed in his continual monitoring of the restrooms, trash containers and general well being of the campers. When I pulled into my campsite it was spotless, not a shred of paper or trash anywhere. The restrooms were clean and stocked. The staff from the Cuba district came by twice a day to check on the CG and pick up trash. I felt safe and just plain happy. The folks at the "other" district need to take lessons from the Cuba District. The folks at the "other" District cannot even find hosts for their CG, and the ones they have should be retired. I camped at Jemez Falls earlier this year and it was pitiful. Redondo has no host; it's a free-for-all. What is going on? How is it the Cuba District can run their operation with folks who have pride and who work? Is anyone home in Jemez?

Small but very nice campground. The bathrooms were very clean. No smell. I love that the sites are spacious and far enough apart that you don't feel like you are camping on top of your neighbors. The picnic table that was provided was very clean too. All in all a great experience.
